Jayden's 20/20 Challenge
All too often, we listen to the loudest voice. And the loudest voice is often wealthy, educated, and sitting in a privileged position.
So I take it for granted that I can read.
It's all too easy to pick up a book, understand a road sign, write a letter, or build IKEA furniture. And I don't have to worry about being taken advantage of financially - I understand numbers and prices.
But that's not the case for everyone.
My pledge for my 20/20 Challenge is that for every $20 you donate, I will spend 20 minutes learning another language.
I'll be doing this by using the time to write letters to people I care about ... in French (which I currently don't know). If you donate, you'll get one, and you can use google translate to decode it :)
This is to help me understand a (small) part of what it's like trying to communicate in written form when you don't know how to read or write. And, more importantly, to amplify the voices that need to be heard by equipping people with functional literacy skills through Bible Society's work around the world.
Will you help me reach my fundraising goal and make a difference?
For $20 I'll write you a short letter in French.
For $40 you'll get a poem.
For $100, we're talking an A4 masterpiece.
But $200? I'll write and record a song about you, in French.

We want to Open The Bible to all people everywhere - in their own heart language.
Bible Society is committed to providing God's word to everyone. Whether it is through Bible translation work with local Indigenous brothers and sisters, or through Bible-based literacy programs for minority communities in Asia-Pacific and beyond - we want to Open The Bible for everyone through all means possible.
